Wordless (almost) Wednesday - Learning to Crochet

There's no doubt that I spend a lot of time on my ass doing, um, close to nothing. (AKA waiting for Pea Baby to pop out.) I decided that I needed some new hobbies. And something that I could do WITHOUT electronics. haha. I have a lot of things in mind, and learning to crochet is just one of the cheaper ones. (I spent a whopping 9€.)

Here are some photos of what I'm working with, attempts #1 and #2, and the last is #3 which is the scarf I'm working on. I'm pleasantly surprised how it's turning out. Enjoy!

  2. Your blog comment totally made my day because "shit does get boring". I think I may take your advice and try to start knitting again, even though I'm really horrible at it!

Where in Germany are you? Just found out a HS friend is living in Frankfurt.

  10. Thank you everyone! My scarf is still in progress and I'm on day 4 now. I suppose I should get movin' with it! haha. I work on it when I get bored. Although, my husband has already said that I should make a BLANKET for Pea Baby! Gah! That'll be a big project!

@Angie - I live in Meissen, which is about 30 minutes outside of Dresden, in the former "east" Germany. Frankfurt is, give or take, a 4-5 hour drive from here.

@Stephanie - I learned with YouTube! hahaha. I watched ONE YouTube video titled "Learn to Crochet - the basics" and just went with it! I strongly recommend YouTube over a book, because then you can SEE it being done.

@Lydia (nodaywithoutyarn) - When did you offer to teach me?! hahah! I love all of your projects! We should get together sometime! :)

  11. My grandmother crocheted and unfortunately, my mother did not learn to pass on the knowledge. Stopping by from Three Loud Kids. Good luck!
